DESA Unicum, as the only company on the Polish art market, is professionally involved in Pro Bono activities on a very large scale, organizing or conducting charity auctions. Over the last 17 years, DESA Unicum employees have prepared or implemented over 90 such auctions. These were both cyclical and one-off events.
We are proud to support philanthropic initiatives, believing that our activities can provide an opportunity to change the quality of life for those in need. We want our actions to change something in the world - we feel that our commitment has a real impact on the people we help. We feel great satisfaction that what we do can provide someone joy and hope. And the fact that everything happens through art gives an additional, symbolic meaning.
DESA Unicum cooperates with the largest and most recognizable foundations and associations, but also devotes a lot of attention to smaller organizations, helping them collect funds for statutory purposes. In the last 17 years, thanks to auctions organized and run by DESA Unicum, over PLN 42,5 million have been transferred to various foundation's accounts.

DESA Unicum employees engage with the Foundations by coordinating the auctions - from acquiring objects, through the development of auction catalogs, storing works intended for auction, to conducting and financial settlement of the auction. DESA Unicum's involvement does not end with the last hammer hit during the auction - on the contrary, we are constantly working in this area throughout the year, and the auction itself is their culmination and inspiration for further action. The experience gained during charity auctions allows us to get even more involved in new projects.
By participating in charity projects, DESA Unicum does not charge any commission on the works sold, and the Foundation is not charged with any costs related to the work of DESA employees involved in the project. We also don't charge the standard auction fee added to the bid amount during this type of events. As a market leader, we believe that our know-how is very helpful in optimizing the results of charity auctions.
In the coming years, DESA Unicum plans to intensify the development of Pro Bono activities in order to be able to help those in need even more effectively.

Refugees Welcome. Charity auction

Last Sunday, the sixth edition of the "Refugees Welcome" charity auction took place at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. The goal of the auction was to raise funds for the refugees from Ukraine staying in Poland. During the auction, as many as 80 works by 79 artists from Poland and abroad were available for purchase. A record amount of PLN 1,133,600 was collected for the project.
Raffles Europejski for the Children of Ukraine

Together with DESA Unicum and with the support of Anda Rottenberg - an outstanding Polish historian, art critic, and curator, Hotel Raffles Europejski Warsaw has put up for auction part of its remarkable collection for the children of Ukraine. In addition, thanks to the generosity of Europejski's Partners as many as five special prizes from HERMES, Auto Fus Group and McLaren Warszawa, EPOCH restaurant, Accor hotel group, and Grzegorz Krychowiak were offered for bidding. The turnover from the auction amounted to PLN 646,600.
Dream Charity Auction. III Edition

This is the third time that DESA Unicum has held the Dream Charity Auction - our community project, which originated in cooperation with Polish emerging artists. The total income from the auction was dedicated to fulfilling the dreams of children of the Mam Marzenie Foundation. This year, as many as 58 people from the world of art donated their works for auction at DESA Unicum, and the total turnover was PLN 33,700.

A worthy cause during hard times. We are extremely touched by the commitment of the donors and bidders. During three auction sessions, we collected a total of PLN 1,460,600 for the Ocalenie Foundation. The Foundation will be active on the first line of support. Its aim is to be permanently present at reception points in order to provide immediate assistance to the refugees, as well as to continue Foundation's activities at border crossing points.

We support art together! Jointly with the Association of Friends of the National Museum in Warsaw, we were delighted to organize an auction and devote its total turnover (PLN 289,900) to the national museum. As many as 17 items donated by 15 collectors were put up for auction, including works from Martyna Czech, Konrad Żukowski, Agata Kus, Aleksander Kobzdej, and Tomasz Górnicki. The proceeds from the sale will be devoted to purchasing new works of art for the collection of the National Museum in Warsaw. The collected funds shall contribute to the implementation of the Self-Portraits XXI project.
Charity auction of the Joanna Radziwiłł Foundation Opiekuńcze Skrzydła

The goal of this unique auction was to collect funds for the organization of a series of educational, therapeutic, and development activities for 54 children of Joanna Radziwiłł's Opiekuńcze Skrzydła Foundation. For 30 years, the organization has been working for children and young people from families in need by establishing foster homes and accompanying the families in discovering opportunities for personal development and passion. The total turnover from the auction amounted to PLN 110,400.
Charity Auction 20 PLOPP by Oskar Zięta for the 20th anniversary of the TVN Foundation

Zieta Studio presents a unique edition of pink PLOPP stools, created in cooperation with the TVN Foundation for a month of fighting breast cancer. PLOPP Standard in a unique version in magenta pink, developed in cooperation with the Axalta brand, in a limited number of 20, was auctioned at the DESA Unicum charity auction, which took place on October 25th at DESA Unicum. The turnover of the auction was PLN 102,400, and the proceeds from the sale were donated to the Cancer Prevention Center in Warsaw.
Sztuka dostrzegania. PwC charity auction

The social project "Sztuka Dostrzegania" was created on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of PwC's presence in Poland and was carried out in cooperation with the DESA Unicum auction house and the painter Michał Zaborowski. The auction included a unique collection of paintings created by him, which portrayed well known personalities from the world of business, culture, sports and social life. The income from the auction amounted to PLN 688 thousand and was donated to four organizations: Centrum Edukacji Obywatelskiej, Fundacja Dajemy Dzieciom Siłę, Fundacja Innowacji Społecznej, Fundacja Integracja.
9th Auction of Contemporary Art, Bator Tabor Polska Foundation

The Contemporary Art Auction by the Bator Tabor Foundation is permanently included in the annual calendar of events of the DESA Unicum Auction House and was held for the ninth time. Forty-five works were auctioned off, being an outstanding representation of Polish contemporary art. Thanks to the generosity of the bidders, the proteges of the Foundation have the opportunity to attend rehabilitation camps. The income from the auction amounted to PLN 365 thousand and will help finance a trip to summer camps for chronically ill children.

On the 3rd of October, at the Zachęta National Gallery of Art in Warsaw, we had the honor of taking part in a unique charity auction for those affected by the crisis of war. People involved in helping refugees staying on the border of Poland and Belarus invited a group of Polish artists to create a unique collection of clothes and accessories. During the auction, it was possible to bid for items of clothing designed and made by artists such as Wilhelm Sasnal, Mikołaj Sobczak or Joanna Rajkowska. The sale of over 60 objects ammounted to PLN 47,000. The proceeds from the auction were donated to foundations, and thus to support refugees to start a new chapter in their lives in Europe. We would like to thank the organizers for their trust and the opportunity to help.

On July 31, a charity dinner was held in Aflopark in Pabianice, organized by the "My kochamy Pabianice" Foundation. Part of the event was an auction conducted by Juliusz Windorbski. Among the auctioned objects were works by Edward Dwurnik, Michał Zaborowski, Paweł Kowalewski or a copy of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland with the signature of President Lech Wałęsa.
In total, almost PLN 420,000 was collected during the auction, and the proceeds will be donated to the beneficiaries of the Gajusz Foundation. The foundation has existed since 1997. It runs, among others a perinatal hospice, a stationary hospice for children and the Tuli Luli Intervention Pre-Adoption Center.

DESA UNICUM held an auction from the 5th to the 26th of May. The auction in support of the "Wielcy Małym" campaign raised PLN 134,000. The main beneficiary of the auction is the MRNRZ VIVA Foundation, which supported eight shelters with funds collected at the auction (Korabiewice, Łódź, Skierniewice, Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Kruszewo, Gliwice, Boguszyce Małe, Głowno).

"Kolumb płynie Czarostatkiem" is a charity auction organized by Mia Art Gallery and DESA Unicum in order to raise funds for the treatment and rehabilitation of 5-year-old Kazik Więcek, suffering from quadriplegic cerebral palsy and drug-resistant epilepsy. The auction includes unique illustrations in the form of works on paper and unique prints by famous Wrocław illustrators: Ewa Kozyra-Pawlak, Paweł Pawlak, Magda Wosik, Piotr Rychel, Tomasz Broda, Gosia Herba, Paweł Mildner and Robert Romanowicz. The auction was held on DESA Unicum online platform from March 25 to April 9, 2021. The auction raised 47,250 zlotys to help Kazio.

In January 2021, Desa Unicum organized an auction to support children from the Joanna Radziwiłł Opiekuńcze Skrzydła Foundation, the purpose of which was to support educational and cultural activities for children and adolescents from the poorest parts of Warsaw. The money obtained from the philanthropic auction "Pomaganie to sztuka" will be allocated to the organization, especially during the pandemic, of a series of educational, therapeutic and development activities for 34 children and young people under the care as well as building a new branch of the children's care home in the village of Samoklęski, in the Lublin voivodeship. It is one of the oldest institutions educating young people with special educational needs in Krakow. Nearly 120 lots were auctioned off at the second edition of the auction of works of art for WOŚP at DESA Unicum. Part of the auction came from the mBank collection. The total turnover of the auction was PLN 1,160,000. Everything was donated for the purchase of the most modern devices to save the lives of children.
PLN 850 000 for the painting by Julian Fałat, PLN 32 000 for a sculpture by Igor Mitoraj and PLN 11 000 for the Nike 2019 award provided by Mariusz Szczygieł.

A serious illness deprived Wiesław Rosocha of the possibility of normal functioning and, consequently, of continuing his artistic activity, which constituted an essential part of his life. The artists donated 62 objects to Rosocha, including Koji Kamoji, Agata Bogacka, Włodzimierz Pawlak, Jarosław Modzelewski, Rafał Olbiński, Wiesław Rosocha, Basia Bańda and Eugeniusz Markowski. The collected PLN 141,800 was spent on creating conditions for further rehabilitation and improvement of the Artist's health.

Once again we had the pleasure to conduct an auction during the Charity Ball of the Foundation "ABCXXI - Cała Polska czyta dzieciom". On the Anda Rottenberg initiative, we organized a special charity auction, the proceeds of which were allocated to support the summer holidays for teachers' children suffering from the consequences of the strike. The collected amount was divided among the teacher families by the PNA under the supervision of the Social Committee #wspieramnauczycieli, which includes, among others, Krystyna Starczewska, Adam Strzembosz, Zbigniew Hołdys, Henryka Bochniarz, Paweł Pawlikowski, Andrzej Saramonowicz, Olga Tokarczuk, Maria Janion, Wanda Traczyk-Stawska , Maria Sadowska, Joanna Kos-Krauze.

The works of Paweł Althamer, Przemysław Branas, Agnieszka Kurant, Paulina Ołowska, Radek Szlaga and Honza Zamojski were auctioned off at the charity auction of Contemporary Art of the Razem Pamoja Foundation. The foundation associates artists and social activists from Poland, Kenya and Indonesia. Income from the auction in the amount of nearly PLN 630,000 was allocated to the initiation of the school in Jacmel, Haiti, including the residence for artists, which is an open space for alternative models of education.

A charity auction was held during the "Spragnieni Piękna" Ball organized by the Friends of the National Museum in Warsaw. The auction included unique works from the world of art and design, created just for this occasion. Mood Works - a renowned interior design studio run by Dorota Kuć and Karina Snuszka was the partner of the "Spragnieni Piękna" auction. Just for the Friends Association of the National Museum in Warsaw, Mood Works has prepared a design of screens which, thanks to the artists have become unique works of art. Referring to the great tradition of Chinese and Japanese art, the duo Kuć and Snuszka created a modern form, and the interventions of leading Polish artists gave each of the 10 screens a unique character. The total turnover from the auction was PLN 310,000.

We organized the first ever stationary auction of works of art during the 27th Final of the WOŚP
The turnover from the auction amounted to nearly PLN 1.7 million and was fully allocated to the purchase of modern medical equipment for specialist children's hospitals. It was a record charity auction for the WOŚP in Poland.
In January 2020, we conducted the second edition of the auction for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, during which the turnover was PLN 1,160,000.

Together with the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, we organized a charity auction where 19 armchairs and chairs from the 1960s after renovation were auctioned off. The furniture was part of the scenography of the exhibition "Obcy w domu. Wokół marca ‘68". The proceeds from the furniture auction were donated to the Kuchnia Konfliktu, a restaurant co-created by migrants and refugees who are staying in Poland. The premise of this place is to provide legal employment while combining gastronomy with social activity.

The organizer of the charity ball and the auction was the "Przyjaciele MNW" Association. The proceeds from the auction were allocated to the renovation and opening of the Design Gallery of the Polish National Museum, i.e. the first permanent exhibition devoted to the hundred-year history of Polish design. We helped raise PLN 264,000.

On October 6, at the National Theater, a jubilee gala was held on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the WSE and the Capital Market in Poland. Nearly 500 people including representatives of state authorities, the Sejm and Senate, listed companies and investors attended.
One of the important elements of the event was a charity auction, the income of which, in the amount of PLN 162,600 was donated to the "Dajemy Dzieciom Siłę" Foundation, intended to support activities aimed at creating the first in Poland, specialist Child Aid Center, a facility providing comprehensive assistance to child victims of sexual abuse, physical violence and other serious crimes.

On Saturday, January 23, 2016, the Journalists' Charity Ball was held in the Auditorium of the Warsaw University of Technology. This event was attended by representatives of the media world: journalists, celebrities and politicians. Funds from donations and the auction were donated to the "Dorastaj z Nami" Foundation, supporting orphaned children of public officials, the "Po Drugie" Foundation that supports young people at risk of social exclusion, the Polsat Foundation and the TVN Foundation "Nie jesteś sam". On May 28, we held a charity auction, the aim of which was to provide support to the family of Maciej Berbeka - a climber who died while descending Broad Peak. As many as 57 works of art were auctioned off
- We want to help Maciejs Family. Maciej had an extraordinary gift of uniting people in order to achieve a common goal. A measurable way to support the younger sons of the mountaineer as well as his wife, Ewa, is to organize a charity auction. - said the organizers of the event.
To this end, friends and acquaintances of Maciek Berbeka, in cooperation with the DESA Unicum auction house, collected 57 works by various artists and submitted them to the auction, the proceeds of which were allocated to the said purpose.The auction helped raise PLN 103,600.

The 5th charity dinner of the ORIMARI Foundation and the Starwood Hotels & Resorts chain "SMAKI DOBRA" took place at the Sheraton Hotel in Warsaw. The highlight of the event was the traditional auction of six culinary gems prepared by the best chefs of the Sheraton hotels in Warsaw, Krakow, Poznań and Sopot, as well as the Bristol Hotel and Westin Warsaw. The total income from the event was PLN 662,000! Out of this amount, PLN 22,000 will be allocated to educational projects in Cameroon and Nigeria, and PLN 640,000 - for the purchase of medical equipment for the Provincial Specialist Children's Hospital in Kielce.

The DESA Unicum Auction House together with the Cor Infantis Foundation and the Artinfo.pl art market portal organized a charity auction for Tola, a seriously ill daughter of Kinga Szulc and Piotr Hołub, who had not developed the right side of her heart. Two operations were required at the Clinic in Munster, Germany. The artists whose paintings are known to collectors from the Auctions of Young Art organized by the Warsaw auction house DESA Unicum donated their works especially for this occasion. The auction was divided into two parts: traditional auction at the DESA Unicum headquarters at ul. Marszałkowska 34-50 in Warsaw and online. The auction raised PLN 16,500.
"Memoriały Wolnego Słowa" Charity Auction

On the evening of April 25th, 2013, a gala was held at the Sofitel Warsaw Victoria hotel, during which the competition for the construction of the Free Speech Memorial was adjudicated. The competition was followed by an auction of works of art and memorabilia from the period of the struggle for a free word, led by the CEO of Desa Unicum, Juliusz Windorbski. From the entire auction, we managed to collect approx. 70 thousand. zlotys, which was allocated to the construction of the Memorial.

However, she does need further treatment in London and the US. During the auction organized by DESA Unicum, we collected 111,100 zlotys for the treatment of Róża Dixon.

During the event, culinary gems prepared by six chefs from Sheraton hotels in Warsaw, Krakow, Poznań and Sopot, Westin and Le Meridien Bristol were auctioned. The funds collected during the dinner will be allocated to the purchase of medical equipment for intensive care of newborns for the Provincial Specialist Children's Hospital in Olsztyn. The total sum of funds raised during this edition of the "Smaki Dobra" dinner was PLN 650,000.
Polish architects - For Japan. Charity Auction at the SARP Exhibition Pavilion

On June 8, at the SARP Exhibition Pavilion, an exhibition and auction of drawings and other artistic works by Polish architects was held to help the injured in Japan.
Works by Marek Budzyński, Jacek Ewy, Krzysztof Ingarden, Wojciech Kosiński, Marek Kozień, Konrad Kucz-Kuczyński, Ewa Kuryłowicz, Stefan Kuryłowicz, Maciej Miłobędzki, Marcin Sadowski, Bolesław Stelmach, Romuald Loegler and many others were available at auction.
The funds raised during the auction were donated to direct aid to victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, organized by the Japanese Red Cross through the Japanese Embassy's account in Warsaw. The income from the auction was PLN 11,450.

"Prawo do Pomocy": after one year of existence, we managed to help 15 people all over Poland. We want to double this number in the following year. Thanks to donations from the founders, the law firms associated with them and the support of many other people of good will, the value of the aid that the Foundation will provide to the beneficiaries from May 2009 to the end of June 2010 will amount to at least one hundred thousand zlotys. The vast majority of our pupils are students, whom we support as part of the scholarship program. As much as PLN 61,900 was collected during the charity auction.
3rd Aperio and Lions Club Charity Auction

The organizers of the auction were: "Aperio" Association for the Education of Children and Youth with Autism and Lions Club Pro Futuro from Poznań. The aim of the auction was to collect money for the rehabilitation of disabled children from Poznań, under the care of two facilities:
- the Department for Children with Autism, operating at the Z. Tylewicz Special Educational Center in Poznań, which conducts, using the behavioral method, therapy for children with autism from the age of 3. The income from the auction was allocated to the organization of day camps with elements of therapy for children from the Department;
- The Orzeszek Special Kindergarten, looking after children with complex, multiple disabilities (including cerebral palsy). PLN 21,950 was used to pay for additional hours with rehabilitators.
The press patronage over the event and the auction was taken by the Poznań editorial office of "Gazeta Wyborcza" and Dilemmas Magazine.
