The "Naive and contemporary art. Sources - Relations – Contexts” sale is a unique project in which the works of artists and artists working in the field of broadly understood naive and modern art meet in a figurative and literal way. Such a juxtaposition is an innovative approach that indicates in both groups a unique value, which is the freshness of vision and independence from other authorities. Both in the group of unprofessional artists and those who received artistic education, we noticed the repetition of certain motifs, inspiration by people and simplicity in implementing the vision. On the example of selected names, we follow this phenomenon and present a collection of the most interesting implementations, being aware that it is not finished and may still be developed depending on the direction of building the collection. The auction is an opportunity to look for connections, one more look at the work of artists called naive and to recall interesting figures from the latest art, in whose work we find common threads. The direct references of contemporary artists to the remarkable in their simplicity visions of Nikifor Krynicki or Teofil Ociepka seem particularly interesting. Following the works of artists such as Edward Dwurnik, Władysław Hasior, Aleksandra Czerniawska, Maria Anto and Włodzimierz Pawlak, it is impossible not to notice the commonality of visions, naive realism and simplicity in presenting. Another common ground is reaching for similar means of expression. Apart from the most obvious ones, which include: a deformed perspective or its lack, freely used chiaroscuro, deliberate destruction of the rules of imaging, there are also noticeable original techniques and strategies, especially visible in the juxtapositions of works painted on glass and gouache by Jan Porczyński or the paintings of Eugeniusz Bąk and Konrad Żukowski . Interesting contexts arose when comparing the sculptures of contemporary artists such as Wojtek Pustoła or Wojciech Ireneusz Sobczyk with the works of Szczepan Mucha and Stanisław Zagajewski. It is puzzling whether they share only the same technique, or perhaps also a shared experience of working in wood or ceramics. Undoubtedly, the topics covered in both groups of artists and female artists are similar: folk beliefs and their iconography, genre scenes from everyday life, and the richness of the natural world and the animal kingdom. In some works, for example by Jolanta Pęksa or Katarzyna Gawłowa, they are taken directly, while in others, as in Paweł Bownik or Jakub Ziółkowski, in a more non-obvious, veiled way. The "Naive and contemporary. Sources - Relations - Contexts" sale is the first DESA Unicum project that combines art brut with the world of modern art, in which we combine the works of Nikifor Krynicki, Teofil Ociepka, Eugeniusz Bąk, Stanisław Zagajewski, Edward Dwurnik, Jakub Ziółkowski, Szczepan Mucha, Władysław Hasior, Maria Anto, Aleksandra Waliszewska, Karol Radziszewski and many other interesting artists.
