This year's offering will feature three exquisite watercolors by the doyen of the family from his peak creative period. Among the works of Wojciech Kossak, noteworthy are two fragments of his most famous panorama “Berezina” (1894-96), an extremely unique early painting “Life in Zakopane: from an excursion in Turna” (1883) or the excellent portrait of George Palmer Putnam on a mustang as a cowboy from 1920, made during the artist's first trip to the United States. Among the paintings of the youngest Kossak, one worth mentioning is one of Jerzy's most famous compositions, “Vision of Napoleon in the retreat from under Moscow in 1812” in a magnificent format.
