The auction “Modern and Contemporary Sculpture”, to be held on October 23, 2025 at DESA Unicum, promises to be one of the key events of the autumn art market. At its center will be Mirosław Bałka’s “Boy and Eagle” (1988) – a bold, figurative sculpture in which the myth of Ganymede intertwines with Polish national iconography. It will be accompanied by a wide spectrum of works by Magdalena Abakanowicz, showcasing the monumental forms and organic structures of an artist who created a universal language to speak about humanity and community. The offering is complemented by a work by Wiktoria Walendzik, marked by subtle and symbolic form, and an installation by Mariusz Kruk, evoking everyday objects and their hidden meanings. Together, these works create a unique dialogue between generations and sensibilities, affirming the strength of Polish art on the international stage.
