About artist

(b. 1960)
An artist working across sculpture, drawing, and installation. His practice is characterized by formal simplicity, which becomes a bridge between a distant past and the present. A recurring theme in his work is the Chain cycle - appearing both as individual links and intricate stacks - referencing history, memory, and the symbolism of infinity.

He studied at the Academies of Fine Arts in Warsaw and Kraków, as well as at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris and the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture. For over two decades, his studio was based in Mexico City, where he developed a close collaboration with renowned sculptor Juan Soriano. This period gave rise to some of the artist's most significant works, including a series of pieces created for the Four Seasons Hotel in Punta Mita and the monumental Chain of Infinity sculpture, permanently installed at the entrance of the Museo Rufino Tamayo.

In his artistic practice, he combines sculpture, installation, drawing, textile, and photography. He works with marble, terracotta, bronze, silk, wool, and unconventional materials such as bread, seeds, plant stems, or silicone. By shaping matter, he imbues it with metaphorical meaning, creating poetic images and forms. His art offers a reflection on existence, memory, history, continuity, and the creative act itself.

The artist has participated in numerous residency programs and has held over 80 exhibitions worldwide - including at the Liu Haisu Museum in Shanghai, the Zachęta National Gallery of Art in Warsaw, Museo Carrillo Gil, Museo Rufino Tamayo, and Museo de Arte Moderno in Mexico. His works can also be seen at the restored manor house in Dańków, a place deeply tied to his family's heritage.

He is represented by LETO Gallery in Warsaw.
