About Department
The auction “Siostrzeństwo. Feminizm i sztuka kobiet” (Polish Feminist Art) underlined the key contribution of women to writing art history from a new perspective. It included works by the most eminent Polish artists who managed to do the impossible in the male-dominated world. The work by Maria Jarema “Form” was sold for a record amount of 1 003 000 zlotys. This is the most expensive painting created by a woman sold in Poland. The first ever auction devoted entirely to the art of Polish female artists recorded a total turnover of over 3 million zlotys.
We also organized the first auction in Poland devoted to culinary events. The “Sztuka od kuchni” (Set for Gourmet) auction included collector's items, museum items, but also those that, despite the passage of time, may function in the contemporary kitchen. Among them was the historical set which belonged to President Mościcki or the chocolate packaging design for the Wedel company by Zofia Stryjeńska.
