More information
Janusz Sobolewski was a pioneer of Polish fashion photography. From 1961, he began to regularly publish photos in the student weekly "ITD". A little later, he began working with the magazine "Sport for All". In 1964 he was awarded the Honorary Diploma in the World Press Photo competition. He has been photographing fashion for over 30 years. He systematically cooperated with many magazines, incl. with "Przekrój", "Zwierciadło", "Moda". Monika Małkowska, who collaborated with Janusz Sobolewski in the 1980s during the sessions, recalls: “He was also distinguished by class. He loved the women, but it was after work. During the sessions, he treated them with distance and respect. He rarely used amateurs, rather invited models to sessions "trained" by Moda Polska".
